Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer (1783—1860) has been one of the most influential and revolutionary figures of the history of the cello. He shaped the way we play this beautiful instruments in ways that, still today, are sadly underrated. 

This book collects the most relevant among his pedagogical ideas in a format that is easy to read, browse, and share. It contains over 130 quotes and ideas, ordered and commented by Michele Galvagno, alongside images extracted from Dotzauer’s methods. 

For its first iteration, this book is in English, but it is our goal to have it available in as many languages as possible.
