The sixth episode of the Dotzauer Project serves as a connection between its first and second phase, and holds this role by presenting a set of twenty variations on, possibly, the most popular Ukrainian folk tune, The Cossack rode beyond the Danube, for solo cello accompanied by a second cello.

It is a challenging virtuoso piece, where most of the cello technique is covered (and threatened!).

It lasts between 14 and 24 minutes, according to the choice taken with repeats.

Rich Editorial Notes explain the origin of the piece, describe the technique used in each variation, and justifies the few necessary editorial changes.

This edition is dedicated to Yuriy Leonovich.
