There comes a time in a cellist’s life when you feel you have to start giving back to Bach for all the beauty he selflessly gifted mankind.

As first attempt in such direction, I am announcing the publication of the First Suite (in G major, BWV 1007) for solo cello, enriched by a piano accompaniment written by none else than Carlo Alfredo Piatti. This is no mere harmonisation, rather an expansion that bejewels the cello melody.

This edition also includes a solo part with Piatti’s fingering and bowing suggestions, while the Critical Notes explain Piatti’s source management.
