The ninth edition of 2022 continues the celebrations for Alfredo Piatti’s 200th birthday. Composed right after the Elegy for two cellos dedicated to Anton Rubinstein, published last month, The Race for cello and piano (March 1895) celebrates his recovery from several months of illness when he was forced away from his beloved cello.

This edition follows faithfully the composer’s manuscript, and yet adds a special bonus: a copy of the cello part with fingering suggestions by Raphael Pidoux, cellist of the Wanderer Trio and cello professor at the CNSM in Paris.
